If you missed our IG live Sunday, we spoke about gut health. Ginger is an amazing tool to combat a troublesome gut. One of the things you can do for yourself daily is a simple ginger shot. (I hear you in the back screaming, “Isn’t it spicy?” Or you don’t like the taste) Here is my little trick! I mix it with coconut water.
Disclaimer: My favorite coconut water is simply what I grew up drinking. It is not the healthiest on the market. It has sugar in it and comes in a can! But those of you who grew up on Goya products understand: Goya is life!
Ginger shots are one of the easiest things you can make and way cheaper than buying them pre-made.
Simply wash and peel ginger. You can peel it with a spoon and simply peel it with a knife and cut it into pieces to make it easier on your blender. I am not one to measure. So, I just take ginger root and add it into my blender with as much coconut water as needed and blend.
Straining before drinking is a choice. My daughter doesn’t like the hairs (as she calls it, so I strain hers) I happen to like chewing on them, so I eat them.
The way I get my daughter to drink it is by adding some ice into the blender after staining the juice and making her mini smoothies. She loves them.
